Dr. Carlos Carbonell Fernandez obtained his B.A. in materials engineering (2004) and MSc in nanoscience and nanotechnology (2008) at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. After working in industry, he finished his PhD in materials science in 2014, followed by a one-year postdoctoral position at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, where he worked on micro- nanostructuration of supramolecular materials on surfaces under the supervision of Professor Daniel Maspoch. He is currently a Postdoctoral Associate in Professor Adam B. Braunschweig’s group at the Advanced Science Research Center, City University of New York.
His research interest include the development of micro- and nanopatterning tools for the bottom-up construction of functional systems and devices.
